Awards Portfolio Design

The Client

Kim Goodger is the proud owner of Raw Hair Salon in Dartford and has been running the successful business for the last 10 years. During this time, Kim and her fantastic team have worked hard to develop a strong connection with their clients and the local community. They love finding new ways to support the community year on year with regular charity and fundraising events.

The Brief

Kim wanted to enter the Creative Head Magazine – Most Wanted Awards and needed help to develop a portfolio award entry that was inline with their current brand – a natural, eco-friendly salon that has their community in their hearts. The design needed to be on brand, and visually striking to capture the attention of award judges.

The Creative Process

I worked alongside Rachel Hargrave (The Awards People), who specialise in writing award nominations and entry forms. Together, we developed the content and layout design that really captured Kim’s personality and core beliefs.

I started the process with initial sketches to explore different layout concepts, which were then developed to work in harmony with the copy content. The final design is clean and simple and uses natural elements to work inline with their eco brand. Connecting lines run throughout the pages which represent the connections to the team and the wider community. The award portfolio was well received by the judges and Kim is a finalist in the Best Local Salon Award.
